Leadership at CPC

Christ is the head of the church, and He shepherds His people through the ministry of elders and deacons. As a Presbyterian church, we are led by elders who are called to shepherd, teach, and oversee the life of the congregation.

Nate Libby — Pastor

Nate was born and raised in Colorado and came to faith in Christ at a young age. He moved to Columbia, South Carolina in 2011, where he met his wife, Courtney, and began preparing for ministry. After earning a degree in Bible Teaching from Columbia International University, Nate moved to Dallas to attend Reformed Theological Seminary, where he received his M.Div. in 2016.

Nate served as an assistant pastor at Providence Presbyterian Church in Dallas and is now planting Covenant Presbyterian Church in Flower Mound. He is committed to the faithful preaching of God’s Word and to shepherding the church through discipleship and the ministry of the Word, sacrament, and prayer.

Nate and Courtney have two children, Elizabeth and Owen, with a third on the way. He enjoys time with his family, being outdoors—especially fly-fishing—reading, and following sports.

Covenant Presbyterian Church is a mission church of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). During this stage, the church is overseen by a provisional session made up of elders from Providence Presbyterian Church in Dallas.

This provides spiritual oversight, accountability, and support as the church is established. In time, elders will be ordained from within the congregation to form a local session, and a diaconate will be raised up to serve the church.

  • As the church is established, elders will be ordained to share in the spiritual oversight and shepherding of the congregation.

  • As a mission church, we do not yet have a diaconate. In time, we hope to raise up and ordain deacons from within the congregation to serve the church through ministries of mercy and practical care.
